The Stars traveled a few miles up the Sirhowey valley to play Markham. This used to be familiar territory to the Stars but the 2 teams haven't met for a number of years because unfortunately Markham went through some difficult times and had to start again last year in the bottom league. It is nice to see that the village is now having a resurgence winning the league last season.
Markham showed much more commitment then the Stars and thoroughly deserved their victory. The Stars forwards worked very hard however the Stars couldn't cope with 2 or 3 exceptional Markham players. The majority of Markhams tries were scored from deep positions.
A number of Stars forwards worked tirelessly all game and young Jo Proctor making his debut start for the Stars showed great potential
